Guitars, Violins, and More…Oh My
Listening to acoustic instruments such as a violin or guitar can really boost my mood. I have been to weddings where they had a violinist playing solo, and wow is that fun to watch and listen to. There’s just something about a musician, a good musician anyway, that really gets my mind flowing to the music. There is such talent in the world, and it’s always a treat when I can listen to live music performers showing off their talent.
I have also been to weddings where they had guitar duos, string duos, trios, and quartets, and even to one where they had bluegrass music with a banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and guitarist. Now, that was fun. Bluegrass music has a really bright and cheerful sound to it which I adore. But at a wedding? It seemed a bit weird to me, but everyone else in the crowd was really digging it. So who am I to say? I think my favorite wedding music is a solo guitarist singer. I love watching them play the guitar while singing beautiful songs…it really touches my soul.
It seems like most of the wedding guitar players I’ve seen have been men, so it’s really nice when I see a woman instead. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those feminists that have to have women do everything. There are both men and women that are talented and I appreciate them all. It’s just that I don’t see as many women guitarists, so it’s nice to see them once in awhile. I wish there were more. Anyway, enough of my rambling. I hope you won’t take anything personally, but I just love music, especially when it’s live and in the moment.
